Rob Sixsmith began his career on the cutting edge and controversial Irish magazine - Mongrel where he got his taste for big, attention grabbing social experiments. He has written and produced for MTV, IWC Media, RDF Media, Raw Television, Darlow Smithson and been the Head of Factual for Beach House pictures for almost a decade.
As Head of Factual for Beach House Pictures, Asia’s biggest factual content studio, Rob’s team has become the most prolific true crime storyteller in Asia - with multiple international hits for the likes of Netflix. With huge ratings those films have also guaranteed active debate about crucial themes such as the judiciary and policing.
Beach House Pictures has also built out an impressive reputation across science with shows such as the widely distributed Evolve for Curiosity and Amazon Prime, the artic exploration show Lift the Ice and multiple series of the innovative environmental show Neu Earth for Smithsonian. Rob specialises in creating genre-blending hits such as Love Nature’s Survival of the Beast, that straddled the world’s of survival and natural history and multiple series of Ed Stafford: First Man Out for the Discovery Channel.
Rob Sixsmith has worked for the United Nations and as a frontline journalist in the Middle East for The Telegraph and NPR. In a previous incarnation he has Series Produced vastly popular shows for the Discovery Channel and National Geographic Channel - leading teams into hostile environments around the world. His fiction writing is represented by Greyhound Literary.
